Women's conference and beyond...

Here's the update on the Iversons:

Every year there is a "girls trip" in the family. My mom, sister and I (when we're all available) trek across the endless state of Nevada for "Women's Conference" at BYU. It's the first Thursday and Friday in May and it's always great! Somewhere around 20,000 women pack into the Marriott center for some great fulfilment.

This last year, we had the privilege of having President Thomas S. Monson as our concluding speaker. It was amazing! We returned and I went to work on Tuesday to find out they were "letting (me) go". It was "just not a good fit" - after being at the law firm for 1 1/2 years. So I was put back out in the middle of no-job-land and eventually followed my husband's suggestion of heading to Bennett FrostThey immediately placed me with a company called Rio Bravo Fresno. It's a power plant that takes in fuel (IE wood chips), burns them and turns around and sells the energy to PG&E. Very green process. It's a great company and I love being here. Hopefully I'll be hired and be able to stay here.

I've also started quilting up a storm. With the leftovers from my Christmas bonus and Christmas money from Grandmas (thanks!) I finally have my own sewing machine and it has it's own proudly displayed place in our dining room. I've taken up quilting and made 2 baby blankets (a 3rd is cut out), a doll quilt (Joylin got that one) and have almost finished a lap quilt. Here's the design for that one:

Phillip is still at Children's Hospital in the Billing area and recovering from the year of early-morning seminary. The next school year begins August 19th and Phillip will be teaching for the "University High" students. It is a new program in the Fresno area, completely magnet school emphasizing on music and some other things. The students learn Latin, so he's excited to throw some previously-unused language skills at the kids. It should be a fun year! Still keeping our fingers crossed for the CES program.

I think that's about it for us. We're still getting adjusted to our new home and still have two dogs in the back yard. Here's Wink saying "you know you want to live with you!"
