Callings and a Wonderful Husband

I am continually hit with this overwhelming amount of awe for my husband. He truly is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me. He is such a great strength to me and for our family and he has such a wonderful testimony! I feel so blessed that Heavenly Father has given him to me, and that he chose me! He demonstrates such love and care. Words cannot describe how much I love him.

On other notes: I don't think I've ever said much about our new ward. Gettysburg Ward is the "deaf ward" for the Fresno area. On a good day there are around 10 deaf/(legally) hard of hearing (not to mention the other 50 who are not legally hard of hearing :)) mixed in with the rest of our ward. Around the first of the year Phillip and I began learning ASL (American Sign Language). It's been a fun learning process and we've made some great friends with our new talent. I've still got a way to go, but it's fun none the less.

Learning sign has also given us another way to have fun. The other night Phil was subbing for one of the Institute teachers and we were signing back and forth and everyone kept looking at us, trying to figure out what was going on. It's like having our own secret language - that a bunch of ppl can understand. :)
As our ward is rather small they didn't waste much time giving us responsibilities. I think we'd been there 2 weeks when I was pulled into one of the class rooms and asked to be the primary chorister. I love the children and teaching them the songs, but it's been almost 2 years now since I've been a regular in RS and (I can't believe I'm saying this, but) I actually miss it! Oh well, I'll go wherever the Lord needs me.
Phillip was put in as "Assistant Executive Secretary" as the Executive Secretary has to work on Sundays. That lasted for about 6 months until the Bishop decided to give Phil a raise and take away the "Assistant" title. If only it came with a monitary raise. :)

That would be fun to be able to sign back and forth and not everyone understand. I've always wanted to be able to do that. It is like a secret language. Anyway, we love you guys. You are the best. Thanks for everything you guys do for us. And yes, you do have a great husband. But he's also got a great wife.
