The time before I reviewed Wicked along with The Wizard of Oz. Wicked is not The Wizard of Oz, it's a parallel story about the life of the "Wicked Witch". It really made me think about what "evil" is. There's a line in the musical Wicked that says, "Are people born Wicked? Or do they have Wickedness thrust upon them?" I chose to review Wicked for that one line. So many of the previous reviews had been all about the author and the characters. I knew most of the women wouldn't read Wicked, much less like it, but we ended up having a great conversation on prejudging and the evil of the world. I guess I'm the black sheep of the group, but I'd rather read a book and then figure out how it applies to my life, not just read to read.
Here's our group:
The City of Fresno has two institute buildings and Phillip is teaching at both this semester! Of course both are still volunteer and we're keeping our fingers crossed that some day he'll get paid for this, but for now it's fun. Tuesday nights he is teaching institute (the 4 gospels) and every morning he's teaching seminary (New Testament). Here's the morning building:

Phillip had written out "The Family, a Proclamation to the World" in calligraphy for each of them (except Cary - she's still waiting) as a gift for their wedding. He'd done it in the traditional 8 1/2 x 11 previously, but decided to do something different this time. After they saw Shaun's gift, they all wanted it done this way instead:
