And Then...

When I posted about the anniversary I was going to add another story but felt that I already had too many "and then"'s for one blog.
I tend to say "and then" quite often. I also start paragraphs with the word "so". It's me, it's how I speak. I don't have a problem with it and I try to keep the blogging as real as possible so I write how I speak. However, I do realize there is a limit.
So (:)) here is an additional "and then" from the past week or two of our lives (it's been rather busy for us):
At the first of the month we had DirecTV installed. We also got "DVR" so we can record a plethora of shows that we someday hope to watch. We had saved General Conference and 30+ episodes of "Degrassi: The Next Generation" (my new obsession) among many other things. So one day I'm watching an episode of Degrassi and it freezes. I look at it weird and wait...and wait...and wait. Nothing happens so I go and press the magic little red button to reset the box. Everything starts back up just fine. And then (:))...it does it a couple more times over the next week. Not all Degrassi, and not all recorded stuff.
I start to get frustrated but not enough to call anyone (as mentioned before, I hate being on the phone). AND THEN one night Phil's watching something and it does it again, only this time the magical box with all of my blessed Degrassi has an error that erases EVERYTHING! I held it in and didn't cry, but I huffed and puffed and finally called DirecTV. 7 phone calls, a forced update and a reformat later, the next box should be here "in 3 to 5 days".
So, if anyone is looking for presents to get for me, Degrassi (all 5 billion episodes and variations) is on my wish list...really though, I'll live without it.
On a slighty related note, Phil told me that Comcast has been voted the worst in their customer service and I think I know why. Everytime I have had to call Comcast, it's someone in India. I'm not meaning to be racist here, the people are actually in India, most have never heard of Fresno, California.
Every time I've called DirecTV, the people are at least in the US, if not actually IN Cali. And they're always great and friendly, even if they don't fix my problem, I feel better.
