Well Done, My Good and Faithful Servant
To my dearest Matthew
By Christine Burnett
Now I leave this frail existence
Now I lay this mortal by.
I’ve completed all Father sent me forth to do.
Now the toils and sorrows of this life, for me are through.
So many left are mourning.
It is so great a loss to bear.
(Christ:) I feel their pain. I weep with them.
Yours was a life well lived.
Well done, my good and faithful servant.
Well done, my friend.
Your light to loved ones won’t grow dim.
You’ve blessed them for eternity.
You’re life’s led them to me.
Well, done.
My servant faithful to the end,
Well done, my friend, well done.
Now I leave the ones I love.
I entrust you to His care.
Keep the faith, be strong, courageous.
We are sealed eternally.
And one day these trials will be but memory.
Then we shall meet beyond this veil.
Fullness of joy we then shall taste.
I hear my Lord, call me by name,
As you will hear that day.
Well done, my good and faithful servant.
Well done, my friend.
Your light to loved ones won’t grow dim.
You’ve blessed them for eternity.
You’re life’s led them to me.
Well, done.
My servant faithful to the end,
Well done, my friend, well done.
