Our Christmas began at 12:00 Christmas Eve c/o getting off work early (yay) and continued as follows: (Our colors are Blue and Silver)
Wrapping
Yes, although we had finished our shopping by Saturday night, we still had a plethora of wrapping to do.
No McGhie's
We had presents for our friends the McGhie's and wanted to surprise-drop them off, but to no avail, were not home.
Peruchs
Every year our friends the Peruch's have Christmas-Eve-dinner and a show. Phillip went years in a row before we were married and we've tried to go the Christmas's we've been married, but something always came up. Well this year they told us to put it on our calendars back in January and, lo-and-behold, we actually made it. The "show" portion of the evening is put on by the attendees. Yes, yours truly (both of us) preformed. Aside from the 12 Days of Christmas played out (Phillip was 6 geese a laying and I was 8 ladies milking) we also signed Silent Night. I think we did pretty good. It's always easier when no one can tell if you mess up. :)
Arters
Reggie and Stephanie Arter were married ...quite awhile ago. I think we were sick or something...either way we didn't get thier present to them on time. They live out in Madera so we don't see them that often. Their wedding present ended up being the first present under our tree. Since we were going to Madera for the Peruch's anyway, we figured we'd swing it on out to them.
No McGhie's
This time we called the McGhie's and found out they had already left for the mountains.
Dinner Part 2
Since it took awhile to get home we stopped for dinner part 2 at Phil's favorite place: In-N-Out. Merry Christmas Phillip. :)
Earache
I awoke Christmas morning with an earache and visions of 1-week-to-insurance running through my head. Phillip got me some OJ and finished wrapping some presents while I got the fire started. Yay for a burn day in Fresno!
Presents
We decided we wanted to do Christmas morning with just the two of us. Among other things Phillip got new sticks (of Ephriam and Manassah) and I got a camera and slippers! Unfortunatlly the camera still needs a memory card...yes, you still get to wait for pictures. :)
We also had opened Grandma Mayhue's check. Thanks Grandma!

Pack it up
Pack it up
I emptied out the car between making waffles (the iorn was still in the trunk from making breakfast for the seminary kids) and then loaded up all the presents for everyone else.
Iversons and More Presents
First we went to Phillip's parents house and exchanged presents with them and Phillip's sister, Julie. Grandma L had sent her presents there as well. Grandma Syl and Uncle Wayne came later to join in the festivities. My favorite present had to be my CD from Julie - which happened to be the same one Phillip had given me earlier that day. :) We'd already listened to it at least twice so having an extra may pay off.
Lots of People
Then the troops came pouring in (as if there weren't already a lot of people): Steve (Grandma Syl's neighbor), My parents, Barb & Russ (my sister and her husband) and their 4 kids.
Lunner/Napping
After lots of "Hi. Didn't I meet you at the wedding?"'s it was finally time to eat. Our feast made Thanksgiving dinner look like a snack. There was ham, turkey, sweet potatoes, mashed potates, funeral potatoes, maccaroni and cheese, (etc, etc, etc). I had my first shot at making rolls and they actually turned out okay...we'll see if I brave them again.
After the meal the kids went off to play and I "watched" them as I snuggled up to try and nap. My earache was quickly adding all-over aches and turning into maybe the flu? I skipped desert, though it sounded very yummy.

Still No McGhie's
On our way from the Iverson's we called the McGhie's to see if they'd graced our humble Fresno with their presence yet...no, they hadn't. :)
Brownings and Even More Presents
Then it was off to my parents for even more presents. Last year they had just returned from Canada and during the opening of the presents I received a box (whole box, like you buy at Costco) of my favorite candy: Wunderbars which can only be purchased in Canada. Well, my sister has also developed a taste for them and when I opened the box she said "where's mine?!" and whined not realizing there was still another box under the tree of the same size. So this year she fibbed and told my sister she couldn't find a way to get us any so after we had opened everything else she goes down the hall and comes back with boxes for each of us. Thanks mom!
Movies
My family tradition says we watch "We're no Angels" every year on Christmas Eve. Things were too busy at my moms house so after everything was opened she popped it in and I got to see it twice this year!
Bed
Finally!

Well that last time, we had an excuse. Our car was stuck in a ditch because of the snow. Oh well :-)
