A late good-bye to 2008

On the radio the other day one of the news reports said that if our economy continues through 2009 the way it has been in 2008, it will be worse than "The Great Depression". Even with both of us not working at different points through the last year, we've made it this far.
I have feet very grateful for the many blessings we have.
  • The blessing of both of us having jobs in this day and age is miraculous.
  • Even though we've both been sick lately, overall we are pretty healthy.
  • We have a wonderful home and a great landlord who understands when we are a little late with the rent.
  • We have fabulous friends that helps us develop our talents of listening, watching, pre-parenting, caring and many others.
  • We have two cars that work (most of the time) and a good friend (and his supporting family) who fixes them for us when they don't.
  • We're lucky enough to live close to both sets of parents and have siblings and other family close enough to see pretty frequently. And our families love and support us.
  • We have the gospel and our testimonies.
  • While living in a world where the forces of Satan grow strong every day, we are able to live worthy to feel the impressions of the spirit and follow them.
  • We live in a wonderful ward.
  • Though we may whine about them, we have exciting callings that keep us busy.
  • Our ward has given us many new friends that have touched us in ways unimaginable.
  • I have two great counselors who I feel privileged to call friends. Their support and trust means the world to me.
  • I have a wonderful husband who worthily holds the Priesthood.
I was reminded last night how great a blessing that is. I was able to see it work and feel angels lifting and supporting the righteous men holding the sacred Priesthood of God. I heard promises made that no mortal man would dare utter.
He supports me in my callings, encourages me to do things for myself and he trusts me.
Words cannot describe how lucky I feel to have married so great a man.

I can only hope for a year 1/2 as wonderful as the past has been. Yes, there have been downs as well. We've cried and struggled, but through it all our Savior has been there for us. We've been overwhelmed by the love and support surounding us. It is because of each of you that we continue to make it thru the day. You never know but your smile may have saved someone's life today. Thank you all for your prayers and support.
