Little things from a little town

We have been in Zillah for almost a week now and I thought it was time for some pictures.

Sunday was a hard day with lots of good-byes. We had some wonderful missionaries who served in our ward and they will truly be missed.

Monday night I was surprised by my friends Jeannie, Nichole, Allyson, Kathy, Coleen and my mom, and Phillip, with a mani-pedi-massage party. I will miss these fun times with the girls more than they will ever know.
Aside from people, I think the thing I will miss the most is our garden. A few short years ago I honestly believed I couldn't grow anything. Thanks to much patience and learning, on behalf of many, our spot of earth has changed my thinking.

All packed up and ready to go:

Crossing the Columbia River (Oregon/Washington border)
And some Zilla info.:

For those who have said "Huh? Where?"

You know you've entered town when you see this sign (don't blink or you'll miss Zillah):
Phillip and I had an exciting trip in town today to the library. It is between the town's one bank and the Police Station. All three are pictured below. The library is about the size of our old garage, but has a nice collection. I can't complain when it's close enough to walk and free.
And here are a few shots of our new church building:

I have to say that I am feeling a bit like a missionary. Every morning we rush out to the mail box to see if there are any goodies for us. Wednesday holds the extra excitment of the circulars. This is an extra help for us as we are still learning where all of the cheap groceries are. Today the RS president told us about a place that supplies restaurants but sells to plain old people like us. I know where I'm heading next! :)
For anyone who wants to fill our mailbox's tummy with fun-ness and love, our new address is: 104 Fletcher Lane #B, Zillah, WA 98953.

Tomorrow, Thursday, is garbage day. Who knows what fun and excitment this will hold for our family. We may need to take a nap to calm down from it all.
