Living in Washington, my natural thought is Washington Apples and a few weeks ago I asked Nichole for the recipe. She sent it to me (from here) and I promptly forgot about it until I was at Costco and saw the apple selection. I grabbed the apples and headed home to make it. I strongly suggest letting the crock pot do it's magic overnight. It is hard to wake up to the smell, but I imagine it would be even worse than smelling it the whole day.
The jars made their magical popping sound as soon as the 10 minutes on the steamer were done. I love that sound! There is nothing like making your own jars of food without all the preservatives and junk in them. Thank you to Tamera for letting me use your steamer!
A few weeks ago our Elder's Quorm had an activity also having to do with apples. The Kibbe's have an apple press. It makes the most WONDERFUL apple juice. It's like eating an apple, without all the effort.
