You add some yeast (1/8-1/4 T) to warm water and let it sit for five minutes (until dissolved).
In a second bowl you add 1 Tablespoon Root Beer Extract to 2 cups of sugar and enough warm water to dissolve the sugar.
Add the two bowls together, stir and add enough water to bring it up to 12 cups.
Pour the liquid into clean plastic bottles (or glass, but that is harder to check the fermenting) and screw the lid on tightly.
Place the bottles in a room temperature area for 1-2 days.
Then you are supposed to move the bottles to a cool dark place for 1-2 weeks or until the bottles are hard.
This process only took a few days...I don't know if it was too warm in the house or too cold in the garage, but one of the bottles (the one on the right) exploded Sunday night. To stop the fermenting process, the bottles are placed into the fridge.
The result was sort of a weird taste...maybe it's the after flavor.
Friday night we had these super cute spiders delivered to us by some of our new friends:
Saturday night was our ward's Halloween Carnival and Trunk-or-Treat. The best part of Halloween, in my opinion, is dressing up. I had spent the week making my Colonial Halloween costume.
and spent an hour getting my hair curly.
On the other hand, Phillip's costume took maybe 10 minutes.

Yes, I was jealous.I think it is sad we (in general, not us 2 Iverson's) spend so much effort on our costumes and only get to wear them for a few short hours. There should be a week of costume wearing time.
Anyway, I hope you all had a...
Happy Halloween!

You could have asked Harter and Halverson for your 2 yr old costumes back to see how Washington liked them. :) Yeast rootbeer is AWFUL my sisters FIL used to make it all the time. Nasty stuff that you have to have an aquired taste for, dry ice rootbeer is so much better and I think alot easier if you can find dry ice. btw loved your costumes, nice job on sewing yours Julianna. Love and miss you guys.
great job on your costume!
Wow! That is awesome that you made your costume! It looks amazing!
